Toll Gate magisterial recount set for tomorrow
The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) says it has been summoned to a magisterial recount for the Toll Gate Division in Clarendon South Western.
It’s scheduled for tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock.
The Jamaica Labour Party’s candidate, Radcliffe McDonald, secured one more vote than the People’s National Party’s Godfrey Knight in the final count.
There were 23 rejected ballots.
Meanwhile, the magisterial recount for the Ginger Ridge Division in St Catherine West Central is set to get underway today.
The application for the recount was heard in court yesterday.
The recount was filed by the Jamaica Labour Party's Huit Johnson after the People’s National Party’s Ralston Wilson won by 16 votes.
Wilson polled 1,017 votes while Johnson polled 1,001.
The Electoral Office of Jamaica says 24 ballots were rejected.
