Three of the four St Catherine men who allegedly beat a man and burned him with water are to return to court on January 27 next year.

Dennis Dunkley, Marlon Lewin and Christopher McKoy of Linstead, St Catherine are charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

They appeared in the St Catherine Circuit Court this morning where their bails were extended.

The fourth accused, Bishop Stephen Ricketts was killed earlier this year when his vehicle plunged into the Rio Cobre in the Bog Walk Gorge.

The court heard that on February 11, 2009 the four men accused the complainant of stealing a gold chain.

They allegedly tied up the complainant, beat him and poured hot water and white rum on his body.

The four men reportedly locked the complainant inside a room and transported him to the Spanish Town Hospital in a car trunk the following day.

An investigation was launched and the four men charged.
