Assistant Commish, other security personnel tour Coronation Market

A team of police personnel and members of the Jamaica Defence Force this morning toured section of downtown Kingston in an attempt to reassure persons that the commercial area will be safe during this Christmas.

Head of the area four police, Assistant Commissioner Devon Watkis, and was among those on the tour.

The security personnel sought to assure vendors in the Coronation Market that they have arrested a number persons who were suspected to be causing havoc in the downtown area.

These include two persons who were suspected to have carried out a recent shooting in the market.

West Kingston has been quiet in recent weeks following an upsurge in violence related to a gang feud in the area.
