An interim presentation to the United Way Jamaica (UWJ) Haiti Restoration and Relief project was made recently by Noranda/New Day bauxite company employees at the company’s office in Discovery Bay. It was received on behalf of UWJ by Alfred Henry, Noranda/New Day’s volunteer representative. Employees at the Noranda/New Day bauxite operations in St Ann, Jamaica's latest bauxite company, have joined the United Way of Jamaica Haiti Restoration and Relief project through a company-wide appeal initiated by the Union of Technical, Administrative and Supervisory Personnel to assist with the recovery programme.

The collection drive now stands at $240,000 through regular monthly payroll-deduction contributions in October and November, individual contributions, plus relief items collected at drums placed throughout the plant.
