Customers of the National Water Commission (NWC) are to see a two per cent increase in their bills come January.

The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) announced the increase this afternoon on completion of its review of the Mid-Tariff Application submitted by the NWC.

The OUR says the Mid-Tariff Review Determination Notice on the application took effect on December 5.

But it says customers will see the impact in their bills due in January 2017.

The OUR says it has determined that the K-Factor will be increased from 14 per cent to 16 per cent.

The NWC had requested that it be increased to 20 per cent to allow it to service additional loans required to finance its non-Public Private Partnership capital works projects.
