The police have released the name of the woman believed to have been beaten to death at the Crystal Towers apartment complex on Old Hope Road in St Andrew.

She is 33-year-old Kerry-Ann Wilson.

The police could not immediately provide any further detail on the woman.

The Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the constabulary has, however, confirmed that her common-law husband is a suspect in the killing.

He is not in custody.

CCU said Wilson's body was found shortly after 9 o'clock on Saturday morning near a gully inside the apartment complex located opposite the Office of the Police Commissioner.

Residents who spoke to The Gleaner reported hearing a loud argument in her apartment.

They also reported seeing a man toss a tarpaulin before fleeing the complex.
