PNP's Sylvan Reid records two-vote win in Salt Spring after magisterial recount
The People's National Party (PNP's) Sylvan Reid has won the Salt Spring division in St James by two votes following a magisterial recount of ballots cast in the November 28 Local Government Elections.
His Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) rival Gregory Harris was originally declared winner after the final count.
But following the recount Reid ended with 1,049 votes to Harris' 1,047.
Reid's victory means he will join the three other PNP councillors in the St. James Municipal Corporation.
The JLP has 13 divisions.
