Cricketer Chris Gayle moves on from Tallawahs

Destructive Jamaican batsman Chris Gayle will be playing for the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the 2017 edition the Hero Caribbean Premiere League.

Gayle, has signed a new contract with the franchise which will see him headline the Patriots team.

The West Indies batsman had previously led the Jamaica Tallawahs in all four editions of the Hero CPL, winning the championship title twice, in 2013 and this year.

Commenting on the transfer, Gayle said he is proud of his achievement with the Tallawahs and is looking forward to taking a fresh guard with the Patriots.

Gayle thanked the owners and management of the Tallawahs but said moving to the Patriots excites him.

The 2017 edition of the Hero CPL will be the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots' third tournament.
