Pepsi-Cola Jamaica recently showed appreciation to 77 employees who have dedicated a combined total of 1,065 years of service in various areas to the organisation at the company's Long Service Awards and Christmas Staff Party.

Heading the list of awardees was Cornelia Nathan, non-carbonated brand manager, who has given the beverage giant 17 years of service in roles including receptionist, import/export coordinator, and marketing coordinator.

"Pepsi-Cola Jamaica is lucky to have such incredible employees who embody the core values of the company and are dedicated to its development," noted Miguel Alameda, general manager. He continued: "We are proud to honour these outstanding individuals and empower them to continue sharing this journey with us."

Nathan shared that she was humbled by the award.

SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT

"A 17-year-old career at any company is a special achievement, so I'm very happy I shared this with Pepsi-Cola. This is yet another testament of the company's commitment to recognising the value each employee adds to the company's advancement," she said.

The event was part of the company's efforts to build employee engagement, which has significantly improved the plant's output by some 12 per cent. Monthly town hall-style meetings, with permanent workers at all levels of the organisation being given a say in all aspects of the company's operations, from marketing to production methods, to the establishment of key productivity indicators form the other parts of the staff engagement efforts.

Pepsi-Cola Jamaica opened its doors on December 6, 1999 after Pepsi Americas, the second-largest Pepsi bottler in the world with operations in the USA, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean, acquired the ownership of the soft drink business from Desnoes & Geddes Ltd. This acquisition included brand Pepsi, the range of D&G flavours, Old Jamaican Ginger Beer, and the internationally renowned Ting. Pepsi-Cola Jamaica is now managed by the Central American Bottling Corporation, the Pepsi bottler for Central America. Pepsi Jamaica currently distributes Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Gatorade, Tropics, Fresh Fruit, Aqua Essential, Crystal Punch, Ocean Spray, Flavour Splash, D&G flavours, Ginger Beer, Ting, 7UP, Mountain Dew, Evervess Tonic, Evervess Club Soda, Evervess, Ginger Ale, Adrenaline Red Fire, and Adrenaline Power.
