British national caught with drugs in 64 tins labelled callaloo, arrested
A female British national is now behind bars after being caught with several pounds of ganja and cocaine in cans labelled callaloo at the Sangster International Airport on Wednesday.
The woman, who has a Montague Road, Smethwick, and Birmingham, England addresses was arrested for Breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act at the Montego Bay, St James airport.
Police reports are that about 5:20 p.m., lawmen were conducting security checks when they located two suspicious suitcases.
The suitcases were identified by the female and a search was conducted in her presence.
Both suitcases were found to have 70 cans marked callaloo.
Sixty-four of the cans contained ganja weighing approximately 64 pounds and six tins contained cocaine weighing approximately six pounds.
She was subsequently taken into custody, however her identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
