Hunt still on for St Thomas man after girlfriend found dead in his home

The police are still on the hunt for a man who they say is a person of interest in the murder of his 19-year-old girlfriend in St Thomas on Boxing Day.

The police have not released a name.

Up to late yesterday evening, the police said he was yet to be picked up. 

On Monday the body of Keyes' girlfriend, Tashoy Barrett, was found with the throat slashed at the house they shared in Arcadia, St Thomas.

A resident, Ranae Johnson, told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre  on Monday that Barrett’s lifeless body was found about 12:30 in the afternoon lying in a pool of blood after residents inquired about her whereabouts.  

Several women have been killed in domestic disputes this year with about 11 killed in December alone.

A total of about 25 women have been killed so far this year, compared to 15 last year.
