The Labour Ministry will next month conduct a poll among employees of the National Housing Trust (NHT) to determine whether they want to be represented by the Union of Clerical Administrative and Supervisory Employees (UCASE).

The poll, set for January 10, will be undertaken at the NHT’s locations in Montego Bay, Kingston, May Pen, Mandeville, Spanish Town and Ocho Rios.

UCASE president Vincent Morrison says the NHT workers have not been fairly treated and his union has been invited to help to improve their conditions.

However, before that can happen there must be a poll among workers on whether to grant the union representational rights.
