The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) says all is set for 'Fireworks on the Waterfront' on Saturday in downtown Kingston.

The event is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

Since 1999, the UDC has hosted 'Fireworks on the Waterfront' annually, with the exception of three years.

This year, it will be celebrated under the theme ‘Celebrate Good Times’.

The UDC says the first anniversary of the UNESCO declaration of Kingston as a Creative Music City will be included in the celebrations.

"This will bring a new dimension to our voyage through Jamaica’s musical evolution, while we retain the event’s most popular features such as a Kiddies’ Fun Village inclusive of a variety of rides, vending village, street party, VIP party and the climactic fireworks display at midnight," said a spokesperson in a media advisory.

More than 300,000 people attend the 'Fireworks on the Waterfront' with a global television viewership of over 1.5 million locally.
