The police have intensified their search for the suspect in the murder of a 19-year-old St Thomas girl after he allegedly attacked a shopkeeper last evening.

Twenty-nine-year-old Odaine Keyes reportedly chopped a woman in the Arcadia community after she refused to sell him a phone card when he turned up at her house.

He is also alleged to have attacked a man with a machete.

Keyes has been on the run since Monday when the body of his girlfriend Tashoy Barrett was found with its throat slashed.

The woman who was attacked last night is said to be a cousin of Barrett.
