With only 18 hours into 2017, at least three murders have been recorded.

One of the victims is believed to be a teenage boy, who the police say remains unidentified. He was robbed and stabbed fatally.

The attack on the teenager took place along Constant Spring Road in Half-Way-Tree early this morning. It is suspected that the attackers robbed him of his cell phone.

In Hanover, two people were also killed in separate incidents.

The body of a 39-year-old taxi operator, Redford Grizzle, was discovered by motorists about 2:30 a.m in Newtown, Sandy Bay.

The police were called and when investigators arrived, they found the taxi driver's body with a bullet wound to the head.

Police believe the cab driver was killed and thrown from his black Toyota sedan, which is missing.

Another murder was also committed in the Johnson Town community of the parish capital Lucea. However, the details of that case were still unclear up to news time.
