The police have detained a suspect in connection with last night's murder of St Ann Justice of the Peace and businessman, Colin Corrodus.

Head of the St Ann Police, Superintendent Gary Francis, says the suspect was picked up this morning.

However, he has not revealed any further detail on the capture.

Corrodus was attacked at his home by four gunmen, some wearing masks.

They took his licensed firearm and shot him during a struggle.

The businessman was among a group playing dominoes at his house when gunmen came up and demanded his gun.

In the meantime, Francis says police investigators have intensified their probe and are appealing to the public for information.
