$2.5m worth of ganja seized, three persons charged
The police have now charged three people in connection with Tuesday's seizure of 400 pounds of ganja worth $2.5 million.
They are: 27-year-old Wolford Scully, an auto body repairman; and 52-year-old mason, Hugh O’Connor, both of Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine as well as 43-year-old Derrick Reid, a fisherman of Harbour View, St Andrew.
Scully, O'Connor and Reid and charged with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, trafficking ganja and taking steps preparatory to export ganja.
The Old Harbour Police say about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, they signalled the driver of a grey Toyota Corolla motor car with three men aboard to stop.
The police say the driver complied and the car and its occupants were searched and several parcels of ganja seized.
The police say they obtained a search warrant and went to the home of one of the men where they found eleven knitted bags with ganja.
The three men are to appear before the St Catherine Parish Court on Friday, January 27.
