National Security Minister, Robert Montague, says the Government’s Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) programme is to be expanded as part of measures to fight crime across the country.

Currently, CCTV systems are in four major towns including Ocho Rios, St Ann and Mandeville, Manchester.

Speaking earlier this week, Montague said this year the network will be rolled out in Negril, Westmoreland and New Kingston, St Andrew.

He further said the system is to be upgraded to allow connectivity among the CCTV system.

The national security minister said the government will also invite homeowners and businesses with CCTV to share their video feeds with the national system.

Montague said the expansion of the CCTV system will help crime fighters to apprehend criminals.
