Cuba says infant mortality rate down in country
Cuba’s Health Minister Roberto Morales says the island reduced its infant mortality rate to 4.3 per 1,000 live births last year.
Morales says the results will be replicated in 2017.
Morales says the island also improved health care infrastructure, including 9,000 hospitals and clinics which received some rehabilitation work and new equipment.
The health minister says the Cuban government is determined to continue with a well-designed maintenance policy to avoid spending millions of dollars each year unnecessarily.
