The St James police have recorded another murder in the division for the first week of 2017, with the latest casualty being said to have been a major player in the illicit lottery scam.

Dead is Julius Clarke otherwise called "R. Kelly" of a Rose Heights address.

According to reports, on Thursday night at approximately 8:45 p.m., Clarke was in the Peaceview community in Rose Heights, when he was pounced upon and shot several times by unknown assailants. He was subsequently pronounced dead at hospital.

Although a motive has not yet been established for the killing, the police theorise that Clarke, who was reported to have been heavily involved in the lottery scam, may have been targeted by other players in the illicit scheme.
