Reid urges children to leave adult activities and focus on learning as schools reopen
Public schools reopen today for the Easter Term and the Education Minister Ruel Reid has urged children to forget adult activities and instead focus on their learning.
At the same time, the education minister is pleading to parents to protect children and to set examples for them.
In an address last night, Reid also said parents, must ensure that at all times they know where their children are.
The Education Minister also wants parents to monitor their children's homework and periodically visit schools.
He has warned that children should not become hostages between feuding parents.
Meanwhile, two Clarendon brothers aged five and 16 will not be among those returning to school this morning.
Instead they remain in hospital with gunshot wounds.
They were injured yesterday morning as armed men kicked in the door of their home in Race Track, near Denbigh, and opened fire hitting them.
The 16-year-old boy is said to be in serious condition.
