Opposition Spokesman on Information and the Knowledge Economy, Julian Robinson says Dr Waller has demonstrated that he lacks the understanding and appreciation of how a board should operate.

The Opposition People's National Party is calling for technology minister, Dr Andrew Wheatley to terminate the appointment of the chairman of the eGov Board, Dr Lloyd Waller and identify an appropriate replacement.

Opposition Spokesman on Information and the Knowledge Economy, Julian Robinson says Dr Waller has demonstrated that he lacks the understanding and appreciation of how a board should operate.

Robinson says his continued chairmanship will lead to the deterioration in the morale of the organisation's staff.

He says since Waller’s appointment the country has lost two experienced ICT professionals, in former Chief Information Officer, Dr Louis Shallal and former Chief Executive Officer of eGov, Herman Athias.

He says since the board had its first meeting in May 2016, there have been 36 meetings of the board and committees of the board over an eight month period.

Robinson argues that it is clear from the frequency of meetings that the board does not understand the distinction between its role and that of the management of the organisation.
