Officials of the Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA) are to meet at 3 o'clock this afternoon with the mother of a three-year-old child who died while undergoing treatment at the May Pen hospital on January 6.

Reports are that the child was vomiting and was taken to the Accident and Emergency Department of the hospital some time before 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

The child was reportedly examined by a nurse, followed by a doctor who determined that he was well enough to return home.

However, the mother returned to the hospital about 9 o'clock in the night where the child died while undergoing further treatment.
