The police say they are actively investigating the September murder of a caretaker at the home of popular attorney Patrick Bailey.

The body of 51-year-old Junior Jermaine was found inside the living room of Bailey's Barbican Road house.

It had multiple stabs wounds and what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.

Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Crime Portfolio Ealan Powell says the police are still collecting evidence in relation to the case.

Immediately after the murder last year, Bailey’s medical doctor Jephthah Ford instructed that popular attorney Patrick Bailey be confined to bed amid troubling signs that he is not well.

The doctor had said Bailey was speaking with a slur and was likely to suffer a stroke.

The police had said Bailey was not a suspect in the matter.
