Divorce and expungement matters dominate Justice Mobile, Canaan Heights stop
More than 40 residents of the Canaan Heights community in Clarendon yesterday received legal advice through the Legal Aid Council’s Justice Mobile unit.
The Justice Mobile unit pulled up yesterday for its first community outreach at the Canaan Heights Community Centre.
Attorney Suwan Lowe says most of those who came out were interested in matters such a divorce and expungement.
She says the Legal Aid Council is hoping to see at least 50 persons on each of its stops.
It’s scheduled to visit Denham Town in Kingston later this week as well as the March Pen area of St Catherine.
Meanwhile, executive director at the Legal Aid Council, Hugh Faulkner, says a number of persons in some communities have complained that they do not have access to justice.
He says the mobile unit will help to resolve this issue.
