Onlookers view the ill-fated Toyota Camry that plunged into the Rio Cobre this morning.

The police have confirmed the identity of the driver killed in this morning's accident in the Bog Walk Gorge, St Catherine.

He is 60-year-old Jeffrey Anglin of Biscayne Drive in Willodene, in Spanish Town.

Anglin died after his Toyota Camry plunged into the Rio Cobre, causing the Gorge to be closed to vehicular traffic for about two hours.

The police say they were called by residents after the vehicle was seen in the river about 8:30 a.m.
