Woman arrested for attempting to smuggle ganja to UK
A woman has been arrested for attempting to smuggle 17.5 pounds of ganja out of the country.
She was destined for Manchester, England.
The police say about 2:30 p.m. yesterday the woman attempted to board a flight at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James.
She was accosted and her luggage searched. Ganja valued at J$100,000 was found and seized.
She is to appear in the St James Parish Court on Tuesday to answer to breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
