Displaced Clifton Boys Home wards relocated to spacious, temporary space
The youth ministry says 28 wards of the state who were being housed at an Anglican Church Hall after fire destroyed the Clifton Boys Home in Westmoreland have been relocated to a more spacious facility in the parish.
The main building of the Clifton Boys Home was razed last week and the boys were temporarily housed at a nearby Anglican Church hall.
The new property to which the boys are being relocated is owned by the Wesleyan Holiness Church and will be available to the boys until October.
The youth ministry says all 28 boys are back at school and the Child Development Agency (CDA) continues to provide support.
Minister of State in the youth ministry, Floyd Green, says the focus is now on working with the Anglican Church, non-governmental organisations and the private sector to rebuild the Clifton Boys' Home.
He is reminding the public that contributions towards the rebuilding of the Home can be made to the Clifton Boys’ Home Rebuilding Fund, at the National Commercial Bank, Savanna-la-Mar, account number 611098561 or US account 614525185.
