Arrest warrant discharged for former Customs boss Danville Walker
The lawyer for Danville Walker says the arrest warrant issued for the former Customs boss has been discharged.
Attorney-at-law Keith Bishop says this happened in the Kingston Parish Court this morning.
Bishop said he and Walker attended court and apologised for the misunderstanding that resulted in his failure to attend court yesterday.
He said the court accepted the apology and the case has been rescheduled for another day.
The attorney explained yesterday that his client did not turn up for court because he had failed to advise him of the date.
Walker is charged with failure to comply in the prescribed time with a request from the Office of the Contractor General and obstructing a 2011 investigation into breaches by the customs department.
The former customs boss has pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him based on a 2012 ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
