Veteran broadcaster Lindbergh 'Lindy' Delapenha is dead.

Delapenha was 90 years old.

He had reportedly been ailing for some time.

Delapenha is a former student of Wolmer’s Boys’ School and Munro College.

He played some eight sports at the high school level and later played professional football for Portsmouth Football Club in England.

He is said to be the first Jamaican to play professional football in England.

Delapenha also worked at the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC) for some 30 years as a broadcaster.

Veteran media practitioner Fae Ellington says Delapenha will be remembered as an excellent sportsman and a great Jamaican.
