Some 100 vacant posts are to be removed from the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA).

They are among 138 posts that were abolished across ministries, agencies and departments under the Civil Service Establishment (General) Order, 2016.

The order was approved by the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

Finance Minister Audley Shaw says the order reflects other changes in posts such as new ones and the reclassification of others.

The order also provides for major changes to the modernisation of the Accountant General’s Department to strengthen public financial management.
