Charges pending against British man held with ganja in tins marked ackees
The police say charges are pending against a British man who was held at the Sangster International Airport following the seizure of a quantity of ganja yesterday.
The police say he arrived at the airport about 2:20 yesterday afternoon to board a flight to Birmingham, England, when security personnel scanned his luggage and anomalies were detected.
They say a thorough search was then carried out by police personnel and 10 tins marked ‘ackees’ and soap boxes were found with ganja.
According to the police, the ganja weighed approximately 12.5 pounds and has an estimated street value of $68,750.
The police say the British man is to be interviewed in the presence of his attorney.
