Agreement signed for construction sector wage increases

Workers in the construction sector are to get increases in wages for the 2017-19 contract period.

Workers will receive a seven per cent increase in year one and a further five per cent in year two.

They will also get a 15 per cent increase in fringe benefits.

The Labour Management Agreement for the Building and Construction Industry was signed yesterday at the Joint Industrial Council.

The agreement runs from February 1, 2017 to January 31, 2019.
