Gasolene Retailers to meet with Energy Minister

Representatives of the Jamaica Gasolene Retailers Association (JGRA) are to meet with Energy Minister Dr Andrew Wheatley this afternoon to discuss strike plans by petroleum dealers.

The dealers are upset with petroleum marketing company RUBiS Energy Jamaica.

The meeting is scheduled for 3 o’ clock at the ministry.

JGRA members have voted to withdraw their services over what they say is the unfair treatment of a former St Ann dealer.

The association is claiming that RUBiS took over the service station without notice.

However, the company has denied the claim.

Wheatley has urged the JGRA to avoid a shutdown of the petroleum sector and instead use available avenues such as the court to get redress.
