Opposition in support of proposal to address shortage of nurses
The opposition spokesman on health, Horace Dalley, says he’s in support of the proposals put forward by the health minister to address the shortage of nurses.
Dalley says the proposals will not stop nurses leaving Jamaica.
However, he says the increased training will ensure there are more nurses in the system.
Meanwhile, Dalley is cautioning the health minister against making announcements without consulting with stakeholders.
He says the input of groups, such as the Nurses' Association of Jamaica, is critical and the Government should hold consultations with them.
