UPDATE: Second tourist dies in Trelawny crash
A second tourist has died following this morning’s two-vehicle collision along the Salt Marsh main road in Trelawny.
The 50-year-old male driver of a motorcar with three people aboard was the first casualty.
This afternoon, the police confirmed that one of his passengers, a 53-year-old woman, has also succumbed to her injuries.
Head of the police traffic division, Senior Superintendent Calvin Allen, says they are both from Ontario, Canada.
However, he says he cannot release any more information on them as their families are yet to be contacted.
Two other tourists who were also in the vehicle with the two deceased have been transferred from the Falmouth hospital to the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
The police say about 10:15 this morning a motorcar with the four visitors aboard was travelling along the Salt Marsh roadway when it drove into the path of a minibus.
The driver of the minibus and a passenger remain at hospital in Falmouth.
