Cabinet has given approval for the merger of the Land Administration and Management Programme (LAMP) and the National Land Agency (NLA).

This was disclosed by Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Senator Ruel Reid, at a post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House this week.

He says the merger is in accordance with the original recommendations contained in the Public Sector Rationalisation Plan.

The Information Minister further noted that Cabinet also approved the extension of the tenure of the LAMP beyond April 2017 for the period necessary to effect the merger.

The LAMP is a Government initiative to help all owners of land in Jamaica obtain Certificates of Title for their land and to update the information on existing land titles.
