Man sentenced to 16 years for sexually molesting stepdaughter
A Portmore man convicted for sexually molesting his stepdaughter was sentenced to 16 years at hard labour in the St Catherine Circuit Court today.
The man is of a Gregory Park address in St Catherine and had previously pleaded guilty to the rape charge against him.
The judge today told the accused that he was in a position of trust and betrayed the child.
The judge ruled that he must serve 10 years before he is eligible for parole.
It was revealed that the accused man molested the complainant and the matter was reported to the police.
He was arrested and charged with rape following an investigation by the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.
