The St Catherine North police have taken two persons into custody after intercepting a motorcar with seven stolen goats.

Reports are that about 10:30 yesterday morning, the police received information that the occupants of a Toyota Wish motor car had stolen seven goats from the Ewarton community and were heading towards Bog Walk

The police then saw a vehicle fitting the description and signalled the driver to stop.

The driver disobeyed the order and allegedly started firing shots at the police when the cops started chasing them.

The police managed to catch up with the vehicle and arrested a man and a woman who were travelling in it.

The stolen goats as well as five rounds of ammunition were taken to the Bog Walk police station.

Shortly afterwards, the owner of the goats turned up at the police station and retrieved his animals.
