Man charged with murder of St Thomas bartender remanded

Twenty-nine-year-old Kirlew Ellis, who was last week charged with the murder of St Thomas bartender, Kerron Peckoo, was remanded when he appeared in the St Thomas Parish Court today.

Ellis is to return to court next week Friday.

It is alleged that on the night of January 24 Peckoo, who is from Hampton Court in Golden Grove, St Thomas, was walking home from work when she was attacked by a man.

The attacker allegedly slashed her throat and left her along the roadway.

Peckoo was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Ellis was subsequently arrested and later charged.

According to reports, the two share a four-year-old child.
