British woman booked for flight to Germany caught with ganja, cocaine
A British woman who was yesterday accosted at an airport with ganja and cocaine worth an estimated $241,000 is scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Criminal Court next Monday.
The woman is 23-year-old bar clerk Alaha Monique Robothom, of Birmingham, England.
Reports are that Robothom was at the security checkpoint at the Sangster International Airport in St James where she was scheduled to board a flight to Frankfurt, Germany.
Her suitcase was searched and a quantity of canned items wrapped in foil and transparent plastic bags were found in her luggage.
The Narcotics Police say a total of 40 cans containing ganja and cocaine were found.
The woman was subsequently charged with Possession of Cocaine, Dealing in Cocaine, Taking Steps to Export Cocaine, Possession of Ganja, Dealing in Ganja and Taking Steps to Export Ganja.
