UPDATED: 10 children among 12 persons injured in Trelawny crash

These two vehicles collided on the Martha Brae to Falmouth main road this morning. Eight persons, including six children, were injured.

Ten children are among 12 persons now hospitalised following a two-vehicle collision along the Martha Brae to Falmouth main road in Trelawny.

Three children are in serious condition.

The police say the injured children are between age three and nine. The crash happened about 8 o'clock this morning.

It’s reported that a Toyota Camry motorcar with school children aboard was travelling towards Falmouth when it collided with a Toyota Axio motorcar going in the opposite direction.

The Axio overturned after the impact.

The other car was also badly damaged.

One of the drivers was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut from the car by the fire personnel using power equipment.

The police are investigating.
