Munro and Dickenson Trust to meet over Hampton board

The Chairman of the Munro and Dickenson Trust Dr Bryan Morgan is now preparing to hold talks with his members to discuss the future of the Hampton School Board Chairman Trevor Blake.

The Trust is the parent body for the St Elizabeth-based Hampton School.

The impending meeting of the Trust follows the revelation that the Hampton board did not thoroughly investigate the reasons behind the decision of school principal Heather Murray to appear at a December court hearing for Rupert Clarke, a Moravian pastor charged with having sex with an underage girl.

The board meeting also follows an apology from Blake to the Education Minister Ruel Reid for a controversial letter he released to the press.

In the letter, Blake contradicted the minister saying there was no agreement between the Board and the education ministry to have Murray go on compassionate leave amid a backlash for her appearance at Clarke's hearing.

On February 3, Blake withdrew the controversial letter and apologised to the minister for any negative impression caused.
