Tougher laws coming to address violence against women, children – Grange

Gender Minister Olivia Grange is reiterating that tougher laws are coming to address violence against women and children.

According to Grange, Jamacia is experiencing challenging times amid recent reports of violence against women children.

 

Grange was speaking at a ceremony at Heroes Circle in Kingston that marked the 133rd birthday of Jamaica's first prime minister Sir Alexander Bustamante.

She urged Jamaicans to emulate Sir Alexander who she had great respect for women and children.

According to Grange, Sir Alexander's respect for women was shown in his appointment of a number of them to top posts in various agencies of government.
