The Education Ministry says it is now considering a reallocation of its resources to give greater support to children in State care.

That's according to the Education Minister Ruel Reid, who says the government is committed to fostering a more inclusive education system for young people.

Reid says Jamaica has to develop a framework that provide greater assistance to students on the PATH programme as well as vulnerable students and those with disabilities.

He was speaking on Wednesday during a meeting with the administrators of various independent schools across the island that caters to students with special needs.

Reid commended the institutions for what he said was their invaluable contribution to the education sector.
