The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that a section of Marcus Garvey Drive, between the intersection of East Avenue and Industrial Terrace will be closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday.

The NWA says the road will be closed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to facilitate work by the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS).

JPS will be replacing high tension wires in the vicinity of its Marcus Garvey Plant.

The NWA says motorists who will be travelling towards downtown Kingston from Tinson Pen will be diverted onto East Avenue and Spanish Town Road.

Motorists travelling from downtown Kingston towards the Portmore Toll Road will be re-routed along Industrial Terrace and Spanish Town Road.

Meanwhile, the NWA says a section of the main road between Adelphi, St James and Hampden, Trelawny, will  also be closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday.

The NWA says the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of the Lima Hardware, between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. in order to facilitate the replacement of a defective culvert.

Motorists travelling towards Montego Bay from Hampden may travel through Dumfries and then Somerton.

Motorists travelling from Montego Bay towards Hampden should make a right turn at Fording, and then travel on through Somerton then on to Dumfries.
