The trial of former Jamaica Labour Party councillor Don Creary is now set to begin in the Home Circuit Court on Thursday.

Yesterday, the matter failed to get under way in the Home Circuit Court.

Creary, who is the former councillor for the Castleton division in the St Mary Municipal Corporation, was arrested in September 2015 and charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

His co-accused, Shaneke Williams, is facing charges of sexual touching and aiding and abetting the sexual assault of the 15-year-old girl.

It’s alleged that in 2013 Creary and Williams took the 15-year-old girl to an apartment in St Mary and gave her alcohol before sexually assaulting her.
