The police say three men are now in custody in relation to the murder of businessman Rakesh Talreja at his Cherry Gardens, St Andrew home last month.

Talreja, who was the sales manager at Caribbean Jewellers, was at home with a friend when four men armed with guns entered his premises and robbed them of cash and other items before opening fire.

Talreja died at hospital while his friend was treated and released.

The police say members of the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime division, acting on information, spotted a motor car in Vineyard Town, St Andrew, that matched the description of the one used in the incident.

According to the police the vehicle was intercepted and the driver taken into custody.

It says further investigations led the police to an address in east Kingston where the other men were apprehended.
