The National Council of Taxi Association is to meet next week to discuss the tax package and put forward a detailed response.

Already, commuters have expressed concern about a possible fare increase.

The association has objected to the hike on fuel and the 20 per cent increase in motor vehicle-related fees.

Council president Dion Chance says the increases come at a bad time for operators who are already burdened.
