Taxi Association not happy, to discuss tax package next week
The National Council of Taxi Association is to meet next week to discuss the tax package and put forward a detailed response.
Already, commuters have expressed concern about a possible fare increase.
The association has objected to the hike on fuel and the 20 per cent increase in motor vehicle-related fees.
Council president Dion Chance says the increases come at a bad time for operators who are already burdened.
The new gas tax will see unleaded 87 and 90 fuel going up by $5.67 per litre.
Automotive diesel will go up by $6.70 per litre.
