Smoking and drinking ... embattled cricketer Russell declares 'God is with us' amid JADCO battle
Embattled West Indies All-rounder Andre Russell seems to be trying to make the most of his challenging situation.
Russell's recent one-year suspension following an anti-doping whereabouts violation, is being challenged by the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO), which is pushing for the maximum two-year ban.
The cricketer took to social media, declaring his faith in God, while smoking what appeared to be a vaporiser pen with a beverage in hand.
In the 30 seconds video, which appeared on his official Instagram page, Russell encouraged his followers to enjoy their lives, noting that God remains with him in his struggles.
"One life you have to live, live your life and make sure you enjoy it," said Russell with Reggaeton singer Nicky Jam's 'El Amante' blaring in the background.
"No matter what obstacles in your way, stay strong and live life to the fullest. God is always with us, alright?" added Russell.
The Jamaican cricketing star was slapped with a 12 month suspension in February after an independent disciplinary panel ruling following three missed drug tests, which is an offence that equates to a failed doping test.
Not satisfied with the ruling, JADCO last week launched an appeal on the sentencing and are pushing to have the cricketer sidelined for the maximum two years.
